An amazing day trip you will remember forever!

"We went as an extended family of 10 which were 5 adults and 5 children aged between 6 - 15 years. The day included a pick up from our hotel (the driver was 40 mins late but the driver was very apologetic so we didn’t mind). He drove us to the venue which was only 10 mins away from our Hurghada hotel. Once we arrived we paid £5pp for ‘National Park’ costs which we had known about from the confirmation email (this is an extra often added to excursions). We met our tour guide Ahmed who was brilliant throughout the day with fantastic spoken English. He took us to the quad bikes which we drove for a good 30 mins. Then we went to the ‘Bedouin village’ which they try to sell as real life but is blatantly staged as we only saw 3 people in the whole village! A fresh chappati was made in front of us which we sampled before being taken to view (and buy which we didn’t) Bedouin medication. Again there was no way this was organic and herbal - camel milk does not smell that fragrant! The younger children wanted to buy bracelets and necklaces which cost £5 each! (We later discovered they were 3 for £5 from the entrance). This was followed by a camel ride and then we headed back to the start where we drove the buggy’s. Finally we were taken to the buffet area for a meal and a show. Overall a brilliant day which we will remember forever! Top tips: 1. Buy your own keffiyeh (scarves) from the local market at £1-£2 each rather than at £4 on the day. 2. Bring sunglasses as it will stop the sand going into your eyes (you don’t need the goggles that they will persuade you to hire). 3. Wear trainers. Sandals/flip flops are not great as you get rocky sand between your toes and it’s harder to grip the pedals when driving. 4. Haggle - they always start very high. We managed to buy 5 photos they had taken of us at £3 for all 5 pics when they originally wanted £10! 5. Bring lots of water bottles with you - you will be in the desert with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees. 6. Wear clothing that covers arms and legs. I burnt my legs badly on the day whilst driving on the quad bikes as it was the hottest part of the day. Overall - an amazing day trip. Well worth the £175 costs (£125 trip cost plus £50 national park) and an excursion we will remember forever ❤️"

Amazing Quad Safari

"It was a great trip. The staff was very friendly and took good care of everyone. If there was a problem, you were helped immediately. The distance driven was also top. We have done quad safaris before, this was the longest tour so far. The quads also had good performance which booked the during the ride extremely much fun. In the village where a short break was made you could ride camels. That wasn't so interesting for us we preferred to deal with the many cats that were there, especially cute were the two babies that walked around there."

Fat trip

"It was a really fun trip, with many special experiences. Good competent guides who have great professional knowledge. The Jeep trip out into the desert was bumpy and hard, about 1 hour each way. I would probably not do that with small children (5 years old) again. But out there everything was really cool and good. Foot service all the way around."

"Fantastic experience all round. Jeep ride was hilariously fun with all the bumps/hills - felt like a roller coaster! (Probably not great if you have back problems though!) the camel riding was great, only short ride but can’t expect much more for the total price here, the sunset view was beautiful from the mountain top and our guide Adam was very knowledgeable and funny throughout. Even trinkets were reasonably priced from the locals. Stargazing took the prize of best feature, honestly breathtaking and again very knowledgeable guides showing the constellations etc. would visit again in a heartbeat"

"A superb experience for us with a top team: infectious smiles, laughter and kindness. 1 hour of rock and roll crossing and very fun with splendid landscapes then arrived on the camp of a Bedouin family. The little camel tour is short but enough for us. The spot to watch the sunset is just fabulous and left us speechless. We were able to witness the preparation of the patties and the launching of the fire which was welcome given the particularly cool temperature. The dinner in tent was good and the demo of the constellations very interesting. Plus, the songs around the fire. We keep a wonderful memory of this excursion that we recommend without hesitation"

🌟 Star tour in Hurghada – with ups and downs 🌟

"How to get there: The journey to the destination was unfortunately very bumpy and uncomfortable. We drove through a rocky desert landscape, and there was no paved road – just a hard off-road run. For a tour that apparently takes place regularly, it would really be the least to create at least a semi-comfortable path. Unfortunately, this significantly reduces the overall impression, especially for families or older participants. Bedouin visit: On a positive note, I would like to highlight the encounter with the Bedouin people. The people there were very friendly, we were warmly welcomed and could gain a little insight into their way of life – a cultural highlight. Tour guide: A big plus was our guide Alexander. He was very dedicated, helpful and provided a lot of interesting information about the country, people and the starry sky. His calm and competent nature has given the tour structure. Starry skies: Watching the starry sky was fine – but I personally hoped for a little more magic. Maybe it was the timing or the organization, but the “wow feeling” didn’t happen a bit. Nevertheless, it was nice to look at the sky far from the city lights. Organisation: Overall, the organization could definitely have been better. The process seemed a bit chaotic and improvised, especially in terms of logistics and comfort. Conclusion: If you are looking for adventure in the desert and bring a little patience, you can collect interesting impressions here. However, if you value comfort, clear procedures and a well thought-out concept, you should be aware that the tour has room for improvement. For me a mixed experience with some nice moments."

"The trip was a lot of fun: first a little short quart drive, then we went by jeep into the desert to a Bedouin village. There was a very short ride with the camel and of course you could buy various things from the Bedouins afterwards. Wasn't a compulsion! Then it went back and at the site a short buggy ride was made. Then there was food and dancing. Nice interruption on holiday however, the trip in the quart and in the buggy was always only in the shortest period of time!! If you would like to take a longer quart ride, you should make sure that you take the quart back and forth to the Bedouin village. By the way, the guide and the escorts were all very nice, friendly and non-intrusive."

Enjoyable ride across the desert

"Picked up from hotel on Egyptian time (agreed local time + 15 or so mins but we did get a message from the driver which was better than for other trips). Not a long drive to the place, then some hanging around. Signed a safety doc that amongst other things says no shorts, but that's what most people were wearing. There were a number of groups of 10 - 15ish around. Safety brief on how to operate the machine. Auto gears, brake handles, right thumb lever for accelerator - simples! You do a few circuits nearby to get the hang of it then off you go in a line led by your leader and your photographer. Going in a line may sound a bit tame, but we certainly had the opportunity to go full throttle or slower. The ground is sandy/gravelly / bumpy, so interesting for those of us who don't do this a lot. You can hire goggles for 3 dollars, not everyone does, sunglasses may be adequate. You can buy a headscarf (maybe 3 dollars? I took my own). We got helmets but several groups didn't wear helmets at all. Mine had to be tied on, and came lose! Plenty of kilometres across the desert to the Bedouin village, pretty much straight towards the sun, sunglasses inside goggles worked well. Time for small cup of tea, short stroll on a camel, watch a flatbread-making demo, look around the village and take some photos, then back on the bikes and return to base. My bike seemed to have some fuel feed issues for part of it, so I got quite behind, but sorted itself out. I was glad I did this. The photographer took so many posed and other pictures. Don't pay the first price you are quoted!"

Would not book again

"The drive into the dessert was quite long and rough. Nothing for people with a weak stomach. The tour itself was obviously very touristy, probably around 150 people split up into a couple groups. We watched the sunset, which was pretty nice. Dinner was okay too. The stargazing part was kind of disappointing, stood in line for 15 minutes to look at the moon for 5 Seconds. We were really excited for the stargazing, but were really disappointed. We wouldn’t book this tour again."

"It was a wonderful time with my mother. We did an hour of quad biking, a tip, put on pants to cover your calves from the exhaust. But it was magical. We then went to the Bedouin village, made camel and drank tea offered by the locals. Very nice walk in the middle of the desert. Very friendly management team. Then we went back to the quad camp. I highly recommend."

Great star gazing tour with great people

"We booked a stargazing tour into the desert with Egyptra Travel Service and it fullfilled all our expectations. Excellent communication and response time, punctual pickup with a proffesional and save driver and vehicle, and a very good guide (Arabi was very friendly and full of valuable knowledge, open to all questions and with very good skills in German and English). The visit to the Bedouin village (including a very informative and detailed tour) as well as watching the sunset from a nearby mountain was an unforgettable experience. Not to forget the star gazing itself which was vey good to. First we got the possibility to watch Saturn and Jupiter during moderntelescopes with good visual quality. Afterwards our guide explained the star sky and shared a lot of fantastic knowledge."

Perfect experience

"We were picked up at 4 o'clock to participate in this beautiful trip! Our tour guide was Adam and the driver Fox(?). They were super friendly and after a long trek we arrived at the Bedouin village. Here we got a nice tour and rode briefly on camels. This was very nice to do we thought. Then watch the sunset from a mountain and had a nice buffet with candlelight. Then got a good and clear explanation about the stars, and looked through telescopes. All in all, this trip was a very nice addition to our holiday and we would recommend this to anyone! For 15€ they also take very nice pictures, which we received the day after via whatsapp. Again, we thought this was value for money."

"Een leuke heftige rit in de jeep naar het dorp. Kinderen werken met hun ouders voor de toeristen. Mijn dochter van 11 vond het zielig. Ik denk het er mijne van. Maar uiteindelijk verdienen ze hier ook hun boterham mee. Even praktisch. Heb je rugklachten...dan is dit niet geschikt voor je. Dames met een volle cup...zorg voor een goed ondersteunende bh. Vooral op de trike. Want je borsten worden op de proef gesteld over het wasbord van een woestijn. Betalen contant. Want met card willen ze extra in rekening brengen. Sjaal kopen 4 euro en bril huur 4 euro. Beetje uit verhouding. Maar ja toe maar weer. Eten is prima. Show is oke. Oja op de foto met een leeuwen welp. 5 euro pp. Ja ook hier denk ik iets van. Maar toch gedaan voor onze dochter. Leuk om keer gezien te hebben."

Uncomfortable but worth it

"Be prepared for this tour which has a 1 1/4 hour ride in a Toyota Land Cruiser cramped with 11 people on uncomfortable seats on dirty and very bumpy road. Wind will be the only air conditioning. You will feel whether it is really worth the trip. But at the end, the tour was very pleasant. Camel ride will be symbolic 10 min only. Food quality will be low with men portioning the meat. Sunset watching will be from a small hill and not as good as watching from your beach hotel. But the night stargazing was the highlight of the tour. For the first time, I saw craters on the moon, Saturn’s thin ring, and Jupiter’s stripes. Photographer was great in shooting pictures of us with hundreds of stars. You really don’t want to save money here. With all of the complaints, I still like the tour for unforgettable memories. Btw, it was super cold in desert at night. You will regret if you don’t wear for winter."
